Hours after claiming that its bank accounts have been frozen over an income tax demand of Rs 210 crore, the Congress said that the authorities have allowed the party to operate the accounts.

Congress Rajya Sabha MP Vivek Tankha said on February 16 that the Income Tax Appellate Tribunal has “graciously” said that there will be only a lien and the party could operate the bank accounts. According to the Congress leader, the case will now be heard at length on merits on February 21.
