Three MLAs of BJP’s alliance partner in Goa and three independent MLAs reached Manohar Parrikar’s residence in the evening “to show solidarity” amid reports of the chief minister’s health condition worsening. The show of strength followed Congress’s fax to governor Mridula Sinha on Saturday staking claim to form government. Pointing out that it’s the singlelargest party with 14 MLAs in the 40-member assembly, the party urged Sinha to dismiss the BJP-led government which had “lost the trust of the people”. BJP now has 13 MLAs after its Mapusa MLA, Francis D’Souza, passed away.
