A day after Congress veteran P Chidambaram pitched for greater autonomy for Jammu & Kashmir, Prime Minister Narendra Modi tore into him, saying his remarks were an “insult to our brave soldiers who have laid down their lives for Kashmir“. Even as a red-faced Congress sought to distance itself from Chidambaram's comments, Modi, addressing a rally of party workers here on Sunday , said, “Congress besharmi ke saath uss bhasha ka prayog kar rahi hai jo Kashmir ki dharti pe algav-vadi karte hain, jo Pakistan mein bola jata hai (Congress is shamelessly speaking the language of sepa ratists in Kashmir, and which is spoken in Pakistan).“
