Delhi's Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday launched the free WiFi scheme amid the suspension of Internet services in parts of the capital over the ongoing protests against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act. Kejriwal said that it was "paradoxical" that Internet services were suspended today. As per the scheme, 11,000 WiFi spots will be established across Delhi. "Delhi will become the first city in the world to have free WiFi services," he said. Over 100 hotspots will be inaugurated on Thursday and all the hotspots will be operational in the next six months, Kejriwal said.
