The Sensex ended 335.06 points or 0.88 percent lower at 37,736.07 while the Nifty lost 100.70 points or 0.90 percent to settle at 11,102.15 level. Selling was broad-based as the Nifty Midcap and Nifty Smallcap indices also ended 0.83 percent and 1.07 percent lower, respectively. Losses in index heavyweights such as IndusInd Bank, HDFC, Axis Bank, among others dragged Nifty to end the July series at 11,100 level.
