Indian market ended the week in the red on Friday in line with its global peers and ahead of the Finance Minister's media address today at 4 PM.
The S&P BSE Sensex ended 25 points lower at 31,098 while the Nifty50 index ended at 9,136, down by 6 points. Both the indices pared the initial losses. About 1,068 shares have advanced, 1,208 shares declined, and 176 shares are unchanged. M&M, Zee Entertainment, Axis Bank, UPL and Bharti Infratel were among the Nifty top losers, while top gainers were Vedanta, Bharti Airtel, BPCL, Asian Paints and Tata Steel. On the sectoral front, auto, bank, IT, pharma remained under pressure, while metals witnessed buying.
