Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi has recommended Justice Sharad Arvind Bobde as the 47th Chief Justice of India in a letter to the government. Justice Bobde has in the past served as Additional Judge at the Bombay High Court and Chief Justice of Madhya Pradesh High Court. He was elevated as a Judge of Supreme Court in April 2013.
