The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) brought Karti Chidambaram, son of former Union Minister P Chidambaram, to Byculla Jail in Mumbai to question him there along with Indrani Mukerjea, who is accused of murdering her daughter Sheena Bora, in connection with the alleged charges of corruption in the INX Media deal.
Karti Chidambaram was arrested earlier this week by the CBI for alleged corruption in the INX Media deal. According to sources, Karti who was earlier in the day brought by an Air India flight was taken directly to the Byculla Jail in South Mumbai. A team of around six-CBI personnel escorted Karti to Byculla jail. The team reached Byculla jail by 11 am. Sources added that Indrani, who is lodged on the first floor of the Byculla women’s jail, was taken to a separate room where the two were questioned together. The questioning ended at 3.20 pm following which the CBI left for Delhi.
