Catholic priest George Ponnaiah has been arrested in Tamil Nadu's Madurai for alleged 'hate speech' against PM Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, the ruling DMK's leaders and against Hindu religion. Ponnaiah was criticised after clips of his speech were widely circulated online. He made the remarks on July 18 during a meeting convened in memory of activist Stan Swamy.
