The Uttar Pradesh Labour Minister Swami Prasad Maurya resigns from cabinet and joins Samajwadi Party ahead of the upcoming assembly elections, citing neglect towards Dalits and farmers by BJP government. In his letter, Maurya alleged negligence towards Dalits, farmers, small and medium scale businesses and unemployed youths by the Yogi Adityanath government. Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav welcomed Maurya and said he always stood for justice in society.
