The BJP on Thursday named Uttar Pradesh Minister for Panchayati Raj, Bhupendra Chaudhary, as the president of its state unit. Chaudhary belongs to the Jat community, which was at the forefront of the farmers agitation last year. Chaudhary will replace Swatantra Dev Singh, who is also a state minister.
