The Aadhaar and Other Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2019 was passed in Rajya Sabha on Monday. It will allow voluntary use of Aadhaar card as proof of identity for opening bank accounts and getting mobile connections. The bill was passed in Lok Sabha last week. It was tabled in the Rajya Sabha by Information Technology Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad.
