West Bengal government on Monday directed that all bank branches in the state will remain closed on Saturdays until further notice. Before this, the banks remained closed on second and fourth Saturdays and all Sundays. The Information and Cultural Affairs Department also issued an advisory to the banks urging them to provide customer services on weekdays between 10am and 2pm.
