Home minister Amit Shah is on a two-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir. On Wednesday, he held an extensive review meeting with security forces to discuss arrangements for Amarnath Yatra. He reviewed the development scenario in Jammu and Kashmir and sought the state government's focus on accelerating development, building infrastructure, good governance, inclusive growth for all communities and employment generating schemes for the youth. Sources said that this is for the first time that no local political parties received an invitation to meet the home ministers. They said that local political parties were expecting a meeting with Amit Shah so that they could put forward their point. On Thursday, the home minister will be meeting the family of deceased police officer Arshad Khan, who was killed in an encounter in Anantnag on June 12. He will also review the overall security situation and meet several delegations.
