Eighteen months after Congress president Rahul Gandhi personally inducted him in Congress, Radhanpur MLA Alpesh Thakor, who is also the convener of the Kshatriya Thakor Sena, announced on Wednesday that he has quit the Congress. In the resignation letter posted on social media, Thakor said he has not quit as an MLA but relinquished all positions given to him by the Congress.
“I will not join the BJP or campaign for the party in the 2019 general election. I will put all my might behind two Thakor Sena candidates who are contesting the Bansakantha LS and the Unjha assembly bypoll,” said Thakor at a press briefing in Ahmedabad.
