BJP made a quantum leap in its Rajya Sabha tally by winning 27 of the 57 seats for which results were declared on Friday, an increase of 10 seats in its present strength in the Upper House. Congress won nine seats, a loss of four seats from its present tally in the RS. Elections were held in 59 seats, but the Election Commission put a stay on the results of the two seats from Jharkhand following complaints.
