Gujarat registered 860 fresh cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours, taking its tally to 1,73,804 on Sunday, while 1,128 patients recovered from the infection, the state Health Department said. The death toll due to COVID-19 rose to 3,724 after 5 more persons succumbed to the infection during the same period, said a release by the Health Department.
The state government claimed the COVID-19 situation is gradually improving with 1,128 more patients getting discharged from hospitals during the day,taking the total recoveries to 1,57,247.
After a long time, the number of active cases dropped below the 13,000-mark on Sunday.
At present, Gujarat has 12,833 active COVID-19 cases, of which, 56 patients are on ventilator. With significant recoveries in recent times, the COVID-19 recovery rate has gone up to 90.47 per cent, the release said. With 51,084 tests conducted in the last 24 hours.
