The death toll due to COVID-19 rose to 4,302 after 7 more persons succumbed to the infection during the same period, said a release by the Health Department. The state government claimed the COVID-19 situation is gradually improving with 834 more patients getting discharged from hospitals during the day, taking the total recoveries to 2,29,977.
After a long time, the number of active cases dropped below the 10,000-mark on Wednesday.
At present, Gujarat has 9,979 active COVID-19 cases, of which, 62 patients are on ventilator. With significant recoveries in recent times, the COVID-19 recovery rate has gone up to 94.15 per cent, the release said. With 54,708 tests conducted in the last 24 hours.
