The death toll due to COVID-19 rose to 4,325 after 4 more persons succumbed to the infection during the same period, said a release by the Health Department. The state government claimed the COVID-19 situation is gradually improving with 868 more patients getting discharged from hospitals during the day, taking the total recoveries to 2,35,426.
After a long time, the number of active cases dropped below the 9,000-mark on Tuesday.
At present, Gujarat has 8,830 active COVID-19 cases, of which, 59 patients are on ventilator. With significant recoveries in recent times, the COVID-19 recovery rate has gone up to 94.71 per cent, the release said. With 48,039 tests conducted in the last 24 hours.
