Five accused, including Sudha Bharadwaj, Arun Ferreira, Vernon Gonsalves, Gautam Navlakha and Varavara Rao, have been arrested in connection with the Bhima-Koregaon violence case. Simultaneous raids were conducted across multiple cities to arrest these accused. Shivaji Bodkhe, Joint Commissioner of Police (law and order), Pune, told ANI that raids were conducted across Hyderabad, Delhi, Haryana, Mumbai and Ranchi. The raids were part of an ever-expanding investigation into Maoist involvement in the Elgaar Parishad, an event that was held a day before the bicentennial of Bhima Koregaon. According to the police, the speeches made at Elgaar Parishad incited violence during the Bhima Koregaon event.
