Gujarat's novel coronavirus cases surpassed 2,60,000 mark today, taking the state's covid 19 count to 2,60,220. State's registered 423 fresh cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours. The death toll due to COVID-19 rose to 4,382 after 1 more persons succumbed to the infection during the same period, said a release by the Health Department. The state government claimed the COVID-19 situation is gradually improving with 462 more patients getting discharged from hospitals during the day, taking the total recoveries to 2,51,862. After a long time, the number of active cases dropped below the 4,000-mark on Wednesday. At present, Gujarat has 3,976 active COVID-19 cases, of which, 43 patients are on ventilator. With significant recoveries in recent times, the COVID-19 recovery rate has gone up to 96.79 percent, the release said.
