At least 35 people were killed and 17 others were injured in a road accident in Jammu and Kashmir's Kishtwar district. According to initial reports, the accident took place after a bus, carrying the passengers, fell into a deep gorge in Kishtwar. Authorities are present at the accident spot. Local sources said that the death toll in the accident may rise even further.
Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik announced an ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh each to the next of the kin of the deceased and directed the administration to provide best medical treatment to the injured.
