Around 33.23 lakh children in India are malnourished and nearly half of them are in the severely malnourished category, the Union Ministry of Women and Child Development said in reply to an RTI query. Maharashtra has the highest number of malnourished children at 6.16 lakh, followed by Bihar and Gujarat, it said. The numbers were registered on Poshan Tracker app.
