Three cases of the newly detected Omicron Covid variant have been reported in Telangana's Hyderabad. A seven-year-old is also among the infected people.
The cases were reported after one 24-year-old Kenya national and a Somalia national arrived in Hyderabad.
Another seven-year-old who was flying to Kolkata also tested positive for the new variant on arrival in Hyderabad. The Telangana government has informed West Bengal.
With three more cases in Telangana, India's total Omicron cases have risen to 65. Omicron has been detected in Maharashtra (28), Rajasthan (17), Karnataka (3), Gujarat (4), Kerala (1), Telangana (3) and Andhra Pradesh (1) and Union Territories of Delhi (6) and Chandigarh (1).
