In a move to placate farmers distressed over extensive crop loss due to recent unseasonal rains, the Gujarat government on Saturday announced a relief package of Rs 3,795 crore for them.
“The financial assistance for farmers is in addition to the crop insurance money. If required, the government will consider to further increase the relief package,” said deputy CM Nitin Patel.
