The number of coronavirus cases in Gujarat rose to 26624 after 217 more people tested positive for the disease in the state a health department official said. The death toll in the state went up to 112, as Nine more patients succumbed to coronavirus, principal secretary (health) Jayanti Ravi said.
Out of the 217 new cases, 151 were reported from Ahmedabad, 3 were reported from Anand, 1 were reported from Aravali, Bhavnagar, Panchmahal, Valsad and Dang each, 5 were reported from Bharuch, 41 were reported from Surat, 7 were reported from Vadodara, 2 were reported from Botad and Kheda each.
Out of Nine latest deaths, Seven were reported from Ahmedabad, while one from Surat and Vadodara each. Ahmedabad has reported 69 deaths so far, Vadodara has reported 53 and Surat has reported 13 deaths so far.
Out of total 2254 active cases, the condition of 28 patients is serious and they are on ventilator support while 2,226vare stable and 79 persons recovered from the infection and given discharge in the last 24 hours, she added. Ravi said.
