An explosion hit the centre of the eastern Afghan city of Jalalabad on Sunday, killing at least 19, including several Sikhs and Hindus, provincial government officials said.
The casualties included politician Avtar Singh Khalsa, who planned to contest in October’s parliamentary elections.
