Gujarat registered 1010 fresh cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours, taking its tally to 2,35,299, the state Health Department said. The death toll due to COVID-19 rose to 4,234 after 7 more persons succumbed to the infection during the same period, said a release by the Health Department. The state government claimed the COVID-19 situation is gradually improving with 1,190 more patients getting discharged from hospitals during the day,taking the total recoveries to 2,19,125.
After a long time, the number of active cases dropped below the 12,000-mark on Sunday.
At present, Gujarat has 11,940 active COVID-19 cases, of which, 61 patients are on ventilator. With significant recoveries in recent times, the COVID-19 recovery rate has gone up to 93.13 per cent, the release said. With 54,694 tests conducted in the last 24 hours.
