The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has said the country has see a 1,000-fold increase in the number of Covid-19 tests that are being conducted every day over the past two months. It said for every positive Covid-19 test more than 20 negative tests have been done. According to the ICMR, a total of 25,12,388 samples had been tested by 9 am of May 20, and the testing capacity has been scaled up to 1 lakh tests per day.
