With Cyclone Tauktae moving northwards towards Gujarat, the state government has evacuated 1.5 lakh people from low-lying coastal areas in the state. As many as 54 NDRF and SDRF teams have also been deployed. The IMD on Sunday predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall in coastal areas of Gujarat on May 17 and 18 due to Cyclone Tauktae.
